Dindigul Multipurpose Social Service Society, Dindigul known as DMSSS is the official Diocesan Social Service Organisation which had been functioning towards the integral development of the oppressed, under-privileged and downtrodden people specifically focusing on women, children and farmers irrespective of caste, creed, religion, language, ethnicity etc; living with the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of Dindigul region.
The following projects and programmes on being implemented as peoples’ centered toward the empowerment cum self-reliance of various target groups:
There are a total of 234 women SHGs are functioning in 7 union of Dindigul District with a total number of 2808 women members. They are involving in savings and credit activities in the SHGs and with the savings amounts, the members are getting internal petty loans and doing petty business / trades for earning adequate income as well as to meet out their homely needs, education of their children etc;
DMSSS s focusing and concentrating on the good health status of the women and creating awareness on preventive, promotive and curative measures in all the operational areas of DMSSS through its health staff team regularly.
About 70% of women have gained adequate knowledge on the systems and functions of Panchayatraj and 70 women have volunteers to contest in the forthcoming panchayat election.
Family Counselling Centre is a Central Government programme which was started in 15.06.1993. It is aided by the central and State Social Welfare Board. This Centre is functioning and practicing its duties in Dindigul district for several years in our DMSSS.
Every member has to attain self-sufficiency in spiritual and economic status
In view of creating adequate employment opportunities as prime objective to the economically backward dropouts and unemployed adolescent girls who are living in and around Dindigul town, MTCC has been functioning within the premises of DMSSS from 2012 onwards.
This home has been functioning from 1997 onwards in N.Panjampatti village, located at a distance of 10kms away Dindigul district headquarters. The home is giving free shelters, food, education etc; to the children of orphans, semi-orphans and children from poverty stricken families at the age groups of 6 to 18 years old children under the direct control of DMSSS., Dindigul.

Enabling to attain economic stability and thereby to improve the quality of life of widows and destitute women of Dindigul District
DMSSS has initiated and promoted on the Revival of traditional value based organic farming practices in target villages in Dindigul district.
DMSSS has given adequate awareness education through various trainings on the need cum importance of deepening cum desilting of the existing watersheds viz. irrigation tank, ponds, supply channels etc; aiming at harvesting and storing of rain water during the rainy seasons for agricultural cum drinking purposes. The bunds of the watersheds have been raised and strengthened in the operational villages of DMSSS.
In order to get additional income to be earned, DMSSS has imparted adequate knowledge through trainings on “Scientific based method of goat rearing, poultry rearing, milch animal rearing etc;
In order to maintain food security, women farmers were given knowledge cum inputs through trainings, field exposure etc; on Organic based method of cultivation of millets and all of them are involving on the same in their dry lands and cultivating Kodo Millet, Pearl Millet, Barnyard Millet, etc;.
Promoting Integrated Agriculture, Livestock and Green cover for ensuring food, nutrition and livelihood security of the marginal farmers and farm labourers.
